The Company
The company is the market leader in the UK for the manufacture and installation of bespoke timber handrails. They offer a very specialist product to the end market – in the last year alone they have worked on/for Google, Apple, the Houses of Parliament, the US embassy and scores of luxury homes. Their multi-award-winning team work together from their factory in Bolton and work throughout the UK.


Job Description
As the company continues to expand, there is an opening for a junior estimator to help increase turnover through technical sales.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of activities, including:

• Costing bespoke projects, ranging from £1,000 to £100,000 using various tools:
• Understanding technical drawings and photographs to create a bill of quantities
• Building quotations & proposals, including writing descriptions and proposing design ideas/samples where required
• Liaising with new and existing customers on a daily basis to discuss new projects
• Building relationships
• Issuing new quotations in writing
• Offering technical advice and solutions
• Liaising with sub contractors for accurate costings
• Following up quotations with phone calls
• Creating new ‘job files’ and liaising with senior management to discuss projects
• Presentation of performance to directors
• Help create marketing ideas
• Write and distribute email campaigns
• Update website & social media with new content


Skills
• Confident on the phone with new people
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft office
• Knowledge of AutoCAD / Solidworks / Technical drawings preferable
• Ability to work on your own initiative and schedule
• Photoshop / graphic experience an advantage

Experience
• Any estimating experience in construction sector an advantage
• Any sales experience an advantage

Education
• GSCE level in Maths Science & English

Contractual
• 40 hours per week
• £19k per annum
• Potential for the right candidate to development into sales executive
