International Sales & Marketing Manager

A vacancy has arisen for an International Sales and Marketing Manager to oversee the sales and marketing activities at the UK site and two overseas offices. Direct responsibility for agreeing and achieving revenue, profitability and sales growth through the development of realistic sales and marketing strategies aligned to company vision and goals.

Principal Accountabilities:
• Day to day management of the company’s international sales operations and teams including the UK sales and marketing and overseas teams via the Regional Sales Manager
• Full P&L responsibility for group sales and marketing
• Delivery of budget orders to meet agreed profit targets
• Act as the company’s senior point of contact for all customers on sales and marketing matters
• Responsible for product, spares and service item sales throughout the world and ensuring customer satisfaction; this will require a high level of personal travel and hands on sales activities in key accounts globally.
• Develop and manage a comprehensive and effective global network of manufacturer’s representatives; managing and co-ordinating the activities of third-party agents and full-service distributors; it should however be noted that the company’s prime sales channel is direct B2B via its own sales team.
• Maintain a watch and report on competitors so that the company retains a comprehensive knowledge of competitor products and their positioning and plans to enable the Company to maintain its market leading position.
• Responsible for developing and implementing the Company’s sales and marketing plans and managing commercial issues to drive Company growth in line with overall strategic objectives.
• Responsible for the quotation system. Approval of sales quotes and contracts to ensure optimum benefit to the Company.
• Responsible for CRM database, ensuring it is maintained up to date and provision of monthly order forecasts to the management team, liaising with the Operations Director on monthly production plan updates.
• Prime responsibility for coordinating new business development activities with the sales team in conjunction with the Engineering Manager to identify opportunities for new products and business developments.
• Overseeing and managing appropriate market research projects and the provision of market reports to assess prospective new products and their market potential as a primary input to the company’s New Product Development process.
• Maintaining an awareness of opportunities for developing new business through the sale of third-party products, where appropriate.

Experience and Personal Qualities:

This is a senior management position requiring detailed strategic planning and tactical execution of viable sales and marketing strategies to meet business demands and objectives.

• Proven experience within the aerospace, automotive and electronics sectors
• A strong commercial and technical awareness to facilitate the rapid transfer of new ideas and products from the engineering team to market.
• Capable of clear strategic thinking and informed decision-making, managing conflicting priorities to find the correct balance between prudence and acceptable risk to drive business performance and growth.
• Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, establishing strong relationships and providing clear management and direction to influence and effect change.
